Title I Information

Long Middle School

Title I

What is it?

*Title I is an assistance program for schools from the federal government based on our directly certified students (students approved as eligible for free meals who are not subject to verification).

*The goal of Title I is to provide a quality education for every child.

How does it work?

*The federal government provides funding to states each year for Title I.

*In order to receive the funding, the schools must develop a plan that describes how the money will be used to improve and/or continue to provide a quality education for every child.

Title I programs generally offer:

*small group instruction opportunities

*additional teachers and assistants

*additional training for school staff

*extra time for instruction

*a variety of teaching methods and materials
