Meet Our Administration
Carolyn T. Caldwell
Principal, Long Middle School
Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year!
At Long Middle School, our focus this year is captured in two powerful themes: “Progress Over Perfection” and “Excellence in Everything, Every Day.”
These themes reflect what we believe about learning, growth, and success:
· Progress Over Perfection reminds us that learning is a journey. We want our students and staff to know that it’s okay to make mistakes, to ask for help, and to grow step by step. Every effort, every improvement, and every lesson learned matters.
· Excellence in Everything, Every Day means we are committed to doing our best in all that we do—whether it’s in the classroom, on the athletic field, in the arts, or in our interactions with one another. Excellence isn’t about being perfect; it’s about showing up with a positive attitude, strong effort, and a willingness to keep improving.
As principal, I am incredibly proud of our students, families, and staff. Together, we will:
· Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
· Set high expectations and provide the support needed to meet them
· Celebrate growth, hard work, and achievement
· Encourage kindness, respect, and responsibility in our school community
Thank you for partnering with us as we strive for progress and pursue excellence this year. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together in 2025–2026.

Perry Miller
Assistant Principal
At Long Middle School, my educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that every decision begins and ends with what is best for students. I am committed to fostering an environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. Central to this mission are the principles of teamwork, transparency, and genuine care for every child.
I believe that teamwork is the foundation of a thriving school community. When educators, families, students, and administrators work collaboratively, we create a powerful network of support that drives academic success and personal growth. I strive to build strong, respectful relationships with all stakeholders and encourage shared leadership, open dialogue, and collective problem-solving.
Transparency is essential to building trust. I am committed to open communication, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through. By being honest, accessible, and accountable, I aim to create a school culture where students, staff, and families feel informed, respected, and confident in the decisions we make together.
Above all, I believe in leading with love for students. Every child deserves an advocate who sees their strengths, understands their challenges, and supports their dreams. I lead with compassion, patience, and a student-centered mindset, ensuring that each student’s well-being and success remain at the heart of our work.
Through teamwork, transparency, and unwavering care, I am dedicated to helping Long Middle School remain a place where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally—and where the entire school community grows stronger together.
