Our own Mr. Charles Redfearn has been named as the Chesterfield County District Teacher of the Year for 2017-18. He is an amazing educator and this is a well deserved honor.

Congrats LMS! We are on the list to receive an Arts in Basic Curriculum Grant to help improve our Fine Arts offerings. The tentative amount is $8,354. The final fund determination will be set in late June or early July.

The 2016-17 Athletic Banquet was a huge success. There were 168 athletes celebrated and honored by family and friends on May 1st in the Long Middle Gym.

Please be sure to thank a cafeteria employee this week (May1-5) & teachers next week (May 8-12) for all that they do for our students. We are celebrating everyone this week & next with a variety of food goodies, prize donations, and other treats. If you want to help please contact a PTO member or the school.

The Long Middle School Band participated in the 2017 Solo and Ensemble Festival Friday, April 21st, at West Florence High School. The band students performed in 20 different events and received 14 superior ratings and 6 excellent ratings.

The following staff members were recognized at the end of April for helping to make LMS a great place to work. They do this through their enthusiasm, service, and commitment to doing their best job everyday.
