Homeroom classes are raising money for the LMS March of Dimes team. The winning home room gets a catered lunch, and all money raised goes to help every baby have a brighter future.

So far, Ms. Gunter's homeroom class is in the lead, but the race is not over!

Long Middle School's first-year teachers and mentors had the opportunity to receive some encouraging and inspiring words from Dr. Craig J. Boykin. Dr. Boykin spoke at the CCS Induction Meeting for first-year teachers. He shared his story from how he grew up as an at-risk student. Through hard work, he successfully went from a GED to a Ph.D. He now travels the country sharing his story. We would like to thank Nikki Miller for this great opportunity!

Long Middle School, along with Chesterfield County Sheriffs Department, hosted an Awareness Knowledge Builder Session for our sixth-grade students Friday morning. The speakers were Officer Burns, Major Davis, Corporal Myers, Lt. Jordan, and Coroner, Kip Kiser. Sheriff James Dixon was also in attendance.

A few students from LMS "Boys to Men" Club attend a conference for Future Business Leaders at NETC

The Academic Challenge team is busy preparing for their season!

Mrs. Garris’ science classes have been working on a STEM challenge. In looking at the engineering design process, students were challenged to create the tallest tower using spaghetti noodles and marshmallows.
