Congratulations to October's ABC Employee of the Month, Ms. Janice David & Teacher of the Month, Ms. Aleshia Ainsworth.

These hard working individuals were chosen by the LMS staff for going above and beyond their duty for the month of October.

Long Middle School along with Chesterfeild County Sheriffs Department hosted an Awareness Knowledge Builder Session for our seventh grade students. The Speakers were Officer Burns, Major Davis, Corporal Myers,Lt. Jordan, and Chief Deputy Coroner, John James

Congratulations to Mrs. Bracy and Ms. Gunter's homeroom classes for raising the most funds for the March of Dimes! We appreciate your hard work and commitment to supporting babies in need!❤

Long MIddle School has been awarded a SC Arts in Basic Curriculum Advancement Grant funded through the SC Arts Commission. The purpose of these grants are to support schools that are committed to implementing standards-based arts curricula and to make the arts an integral part of the basic curriculum and daily instruction.

Science teachers, Ms Bracy and Ms Owens, had a Hallway Adventure with their 6th grade students!

They explored the layers of the Earth’s atmosphere by making observations of the object in boxes that were placed in the hallway. The boxes were placed in the order of the layers of the Earth.

Inside of the boxes, students found different objects, pictures, or clues explaining the different characteristics of that layer.

Congrats to the LMS students (Dibby Midgley, Jaysa McLendon, & Peyton Taylor) who competed with the Cheraw High School Tribe today in McBee, SC. They finished first in their class with a superior rating and a third place finish on the day. Way to go!!!

Flu shots will be offered to students in Chesterfield County. Staff from the health department will be at LMS in the coming weeks to give flu shots to students whose parents consent. There is no cost for this shot. If you would like for your child to get a flu shot at school, go to the website: http;//www.scdhec.gov/slcconsent and enter 11301005 as your validation code. Complete the consent and submit to DHEC. If you are unable to complete the application, please contact Ms. Sellers, school nurse, at 843.921.1010.
