Former principals, Ms. Blair and Mr Wilkerson, paid LMS a visit to be a part of our annual African American Read In. They were also able to catch a picture with our current principal, Ms. Ellerbe.

The LMS Simple Machine Amusement Park is now open! 6th grade students explored the different types of simple machines and built their very own simple machine amusement park attraction. Each amusement park ride had to use two simple machines and the students had to follow the engineering practices while building.

We hope your student is making plans to attend the Snow Ball this Friday. Attached is the picture package if you are interested in purchasing pictures for your student. There are additional paper copies in the office, if needed.

The Long Middle School Beta Club traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC, to participate in the SC Junior Beta Club convention. They took part in a variety of competitions including technology, marketing, t-shirt, and photography. Everyone had a wonderful time, and our technology group won 2nd place. Thank you to the sponsors, students, and parents who made this trip possible.

Congrats to our 6th grade students for their hard work during the 2nd nine weeks!

Mrs. Owens sixth grade science classes have been learning about heat transfer and made s’mores.
