Daily Practice Information
Practicing is an essential part of becoming a musician. Students should plan to practice their instrument everyday. During that practice time, students should be reading some type of sheet music or band method book. The only way students will become comfortable reading music is to do it regularly.
Some tips for practicing:
1. Find your child a quiet place to practice where there won't be interruptions.
2. Create your child a scheduled practice time.
3. Ask your child to perform something for you. If your child knows that you are interested in their progress they will work harder.
4. Encourage your child to practice ahead. Students should review material previously covered in class and look ahead to new material.
