Dockery's Computer Lab: Room 406

Welcome Back! This will be an exciting year even though I will be teaching face to face instruction and virtually. This year will be a year of growth for the students as well as myself.  I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grades. For each grade level, I will teach both face to face and virtually. Although there will be challenges learning in a virtual format, I am here to assist. However, students will be excited to share what they learn.  I am teaching Intro to Computer Apps (6th), Intro to Intermediate Computer Apps (7th) and Multimedia (8th). Sixth graders will learn basic computer terminology, computer safety and learn how to use touch typing to learn the alphanumeric (QWERTY) keyboard and then advance to the basics of computer applications.  Seventh graders will be introduced to computer applications, which entails how to format word documents, create spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations using the Microsoft Office Suite.

Eighth graders will learn multimedia. Multimedia is the integration of multiple forms of media. This includes text, graphics, audio and video that is delivered interactively to the user by electronic or digitally manipulated means. For example, a presentation involving audio and video clips would be considered a "multimedia presentation." Educational software that involves animations, sound, and text is called "multimedia software."

I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year.  If you have any concerns or comments about the course requirements or the rules/procedures, please do not hesitate to contact me via email: t 843-921-1010 x1452.

 We are in this together!
