Shirley Hardin
I am a dedicated educator with a passion for teaching with a diverse background in education. Born in Chesterfield, South Carolina, and raised in Wadesboro, North Carolina, my journey in education has taken me across the globe. As a teacher I was empowered to create innovative lessons that directly connected with my students. I was pushed to think outside the box in delivering content which increased student growth. Over the past decade I moved from a beginning teacher stateside to department chair.
I have had the incredible opportunity to teach in Sagamihara, Japan, at Camp Zama, and in 17 different schools throughout Tokyo, Japan. My favorite subject to teach is Science, closely followed by World History. Additionally, I enjoy teaching Health and PE.
Beyond the classroom, my husband and I have the privilege of pastoring at White Oak in Morven, North Carolina. We are blessed with three wonderful children.
One of my greatest joys is organizing and running summer camps that focus on the Bible and Science. This passion allows me to combine my love for education and my faith, creating enriching experiences for young learners.
I am thrilled to be a part of the team at Long Middle School, where I look forward to inspiring and educating the next generation of students.
