Each year the Chesterfield County School District holds a 'Stop the Pot" competition to raise awareness of the consequences of marijuana use. Sponsored in part by the Chesterfield County Youth Development Coalition, all the students are provided with information on marijuana use and it's effects on the body. The students then submit their artwork that depicts some of the possible consequences of marijuana use in an attempt to dissuade their peers from smoking.
Two LMS 6th graders, Briana Clark, and Javis Redfearn, placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in their grade level categories.
Riley Hoffman, a 7th grader, placed 3 in her grade level.
