Furr wins speech competition

George Coker Furr from Long Middle School attended the SC Business Processionals of Americas Leadership Conference in Rock Hill.  While at the conference he listened to young entrepreneurs from South Carolina.  There were also activities that promoted leadership skills and team work.
 
George Coker also competed in a prepared speech competition.  The speech had to be a topic related to business. His speech was on the advantages of being a Chamber of Commerce member for a small business.  George Coker won 1st place and will travel to Orlando, FL in May to the National Leadership Conference to compete.
 
He was also elected BPA Middle School Representative for the state of South Carolina.
