“WHERE LIVES WILL BE TRANSFORMED FOR THE BETTER”

Dear Parents and Students,

My name is Deidre McBride. I was transferred to Long Middle School from Chesterfield High School. I have been teaching Special Education for 14 years. My child attended Chesterfield County Schools as a student with Learning Disabilities, therefore I am very compassionate about students with disabilities. Please feel free to contact me anytime at 843-921-1010 ext. 409. You may also contact me after school hours at 704-695-0654 or email at

I do have high expectations for my students. My first expectation is that students obey ALL school and classroom rules. My second expectation is that students attend school EVERYDAY, if possible. In case of sickness or emergency, please call to let me know, so that I can prepare their work folders for pick-up. I will also send home a daily homework folder for parent signature except for on Fridays. Without parent signature the student will not receive credit for homework. NO materials are required for students at this time. However, we will gladly accept classroom donations of pencils, paper, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, etc….

Mrs. Sowell is my assistant and we are both here to assist in making this a successful school year for your child. Our goal for this school year is to see lives transformed for the better!

Thank you,

Deidre McBride, Special Education Teacher
