Assistant Principal's Page

Dear Long Middle School Family,

It is an honor and a privilege to be the Assistant Principal of Long Middle School.  

It is my goal to build great relationships with all the stakeholders. It is my personal belief that every student can be successful, and it is our job as educators to make the learning experience meaningful and relevant to their lives.  

I am from Santa Marta, Colombia. I have been teaching English, French, and Spanish since 1992 in different middle and high schools, universities, and language centers. I had the opportunity of being an administrator for three years. I also retrained teachers in two states in my country. I came to the United States in 2008, I was an ESL teacher at Wendell Middle, in Wendell, NC. In 2009, I moved to Cheraw to teach Spanish at Cheraw High where I also coached Cross Country and soccer. 

On a personal note, I am married to the most amazing woman, Kellys, we have been together for over 22 years and counting! We have two kids: Andres, 25, who is making his dream come true, playing soccer in college. He is starting his senior year at William Peace University in Raleigh, and Juliana, 16, who is a senior at the Governor School for Science and Mathematics. I am a homebody, I love spending time with my family, I love watching soccer, reading, listening to music, and cooking. 

I look forward to a year full of celebrations, accomplishments, great moments, and happy memories.
